Our client has over 100 year history in China. As a leading European bank in the country, the bank employed around 1,000 people. They maintained four branches and other representative offices in mainland China. The bank has obtained licenses to provide derivatives services and is a Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII), authorized to invest in the domestic stock markets. They also made a significant break-through in foreign exchange business in China as they became one of the first foreign banks to enter China’s inter-bank foreign exchange trading market. This caused them to become a market maker for the China Foreign Exchange Trading System (CFETS). The Bank has on-the-ground country experts working together with centralized sector specialists and execution resources to build long-term relationships with their clients. They provide integrated corporate and investment banking solutions across a full-spectrum of products.

Key Responsibilities
Associates Directors are expected to play a key role in originating and executing corporate transactions, also working closely with Director, the core responsibilities will include:
• Research on specific industries and companies to identify and originate potential opportunities;
• Perform evaluations of a company’s performance compared to industry and market trends, including the preparation of comprehensive reports incorporating statistical information and strategic recommendations;
• Generate and sustain contacts with potentially interesting companies, organizations and individuals;
• Manage the execution of a deal working with the Analysts to ensure the due diligence, legal & compliance and tax implications, and funding details have been adhered to.
• Assist clients regarding their any expansion capitalisation and evaluation of M&A, divestments or a restructure strategy.
• Negotiate contracts with business partners to set up new businesses
• Provide continuing guidance to early stage businesses
Requirements
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
• Strong academic credentials.
• Second degree or other further qualifications (MBA or equivalent preferred)
• At least 5-6 years experience in the Equity Capital Market.
• Experience in valuation and across transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestments, debt & equity capital raisings, and capital structures with IPO, Hong Kong listing exposure.
• Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
• Be able to co-ordinate a team of Analysts, and have strong delegation skills.
• People management experience.
• Ability to analyse data and identify key issues affecting a company
• Strong report-writing skills required and experience of presenting advantageous
• Fully conversant with the fundamentals of corporate finance and project appraisal
• Proficient in use of a spreadsheet and presentation package (e.g. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
